First, let’s see where the angels fought for God’s people. Israel was once threatened with imminent attack by a powerful enemy. Sennacherib had fought and conquered Israel. He was paid tributes in shades of gold and silver. They stripped the gold from the temple of the Lord to meet these demands of the Assyrian king, but he was not satisfied. He insulted the Israelites, his king, Hezekiah and even his God. He threatened not only to defeat Israel in battle again, but also to totally humiliate them and relocate them out of their land. When King Hezekiah of Israel heard all the threats from the king of Assyria, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and went into the Temple of the Lord to pray. He spread the threatening letter that the king of Assyria sent him before the Lord. After praying, God answered him and assured him that he would fight for his people. And what happened? That same night God sent his angel to fight and humiliate the enemies of Israel. Only one angel defeated all the enemy soldiers and his commander! The boastful King Sennacherib ran home defeated and disgraced.

The Bible says, “That night the angel of the Lord went out into the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found dead bodies everywhere. So King Sennacherib of Assyria broke camp and he returned to his own land. He returned to his capital of Nineveh and stayed there.” 2 Kings 19:35-36. The angel killed 185,000 soldiers, disorganized the survivors, and sent their commander-in-chief running for safety. But did he really escape? Nope! Another day, when he went to worship his god Nisrock, his two sons killed him there. This is exactly what happens when God sends his angels to fight our battles. It is always devastating. Your enemies will be destroyed. Prayer warriors and indeed all Christians must always learn and apply this strategy of involving heavenly beings in our warfare.

Demons, witches, and even Satan may sometimes try to resist you, but they always flee upon seeing God’s mighty angels. And you know that these heavenly warriors, when they come for battle, they usually come in chariots of fire or with swords of fire in their hands. Who will see such a terrifying sight and not run away? Always ask God to send his angels to fight for you when you are in battle with the kingdom of darkness. Daniel also understood the capabilities and operations of angels. He knew that angels could shut the mouths of lions. Just read this account from Daniel 6:16-22: “Then the king had Daniel arrested and thrown into the lions’ den. The king said to him, ‘May your God, whom you worship continually, rescue you!’ They brought a stone and placed it over the mouth of the moat. The king sealed the stone with his own royal seal and with the seals of his nobles, so that no one could rescue Daniel from the lions. Then the king returned to his palace and passed night fast. He refused his usual entertainment and could not sleep the whole night. Very early the next morning, the king ran out to the lions’ den. When he got there, he cried out in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the God living! Was your God, whom you worship without ceasing, able to deliver you from the lions?’ Daniel replied, “Long live the king! My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so they wouldn’t hurt me.”

Praise the Lord! The Almighty sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths. The angels can shut the mouth of all those enemies that currently threaten to devour you. They can shut the mouth of all those occult and witchcraft gangs against you. They can render all your conspiracies and devious activities ineffective. An angel did indeed shut the mouths of all the lions in that den! Yes, that’s how powerful angels can be. You may not need many. Just one is enough to silence all your enemies. I am not surprised that Daniel easily understood that he was just an angel who shut the mouth of those fearsome and ravenous beasts in that cave. He had had so many encounters with celestial beings that he knew their identity, powers and operations. Today, God is sending his angels to tame your enemies. He is sending you to bring confusion and disrupt all his evil plans against you. The angel will chase them away and help to recover everything that he was taking from you. He calls for them.
