In 1995, Bugatti declared bankruptcy as the market for supercars had slowed. In the late 1990s, Volkswagen bought the rights to use the Bugatti name and brought the company back to life. The 218 features a hidden wing at the rear which is up there when the car accelerates to higher speeds as this gives the car stability and downforce.

The 218’s engine is developed by Volkswagen and packs a punch with three rows of 18-cylinder banks that come together in a “W” shape. The engine has a displacement of 6.3 liters, produces 547 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds. The 218 has a direct injection engine that produces a power of 408 kW and a maximum torque of 650 Nm.
