YouTube Marketing for Business Owners

If you’ve heard of YouTube, you’ll know that it’s a free online video storage site that allows you to watch video content for free. More and more business owners are slowly discovering how YouTube marketing will benefit their business.

YouTube was founded in 2005 by former PayPal employees Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim, and Steve Chen. While at PayPal, they saw the power of simplifying a process and giving everyone a solution.

Since YouTube has grown and grown since 2005, you really should use this in your marketing strategy. In just three months, YouTube went from having zero visitors to more than four million.

Today the number of visitors continues to grow. Did you know that the average YouTube user will spend between 15 and 25 minutes a day on the site?

Google bought YouTube for $1.65 billion in 2006. You have the power of the world’s largest search engine along with the largest online video site. This gives the business owner considerable leverage in YouTube marketing.

In February 2011, YouTube had 490 million unique visitors each month from around the world. They accounted for, can you believe it, about 92 billion page views every month. These are incredible figures. It is estimated that people spend around 2.9 billion hours each month on YouTube.

YouTube outgrew sites like Craigslist, eBay, MySpace, and Blogger.com. A diverse selection of content streams from YouTube, including concerts, TV clips, movies, etc.

However, in the old days there was no way to share video content. Videos took ages to load and tended to be long. You needed some kind of special program to run the videos. This was never a pleasant experience for people, and many turned off.

When YouTube came along, everything changed for the better. Finally, you can embed videos on other websites or view the video in your chosen browser. Gone are the days of slow-loading videos and choppy footage. We were finally able to see in style and it was a pleasant experience for all.

What about YouTube video quality? Picture and sound quality depends on the creator of the video, but the overall quality of video playback on YouTube is very good. There is little lag and the video starts immediately. You can pause, fast forward or rewind the video.

How does this apply to internet marketing?

Online video is growing rapidly and seems to be getting bigger and bigger. It’s time for you to create your own YouTube marketing strategy to promote your business or products. Think about how you can best use video in your business.

You can use YouTube advertising to spread your message and drive traffic to your website. Have you thought about all the sales you could get from your YouTube marketing videos?

What about all the subscribers that could come from YouTube traffic? The more subscribers can mean more profit for your business. You need to start using online videos today.

Internet marketing traffic on YouTube will result when you create some videos of your product or service. Video marketing is not expensive and YouTube hosting is free. However, this is not the case with some other sites and they could burn a nice hole in your wallet. I don’t want what I want at all when it comes to keeping costs down in these tough economic times.

Are you beginning to see why getting involved in YouTube marketing will really benefit your business?

In general, it is easier to rank a video than a website or blog. The more people watch your video on YouTube, the more visitors will return to your website. As more people watch your video, you will also move up the rankings.

You will need some special YouTube marketing software to create your video content. Obviously you will need some kind of video camera. Yes, you can use your smartphone or even one of the small Flip type cameras. However, for better quality, I always prefer a camcorder.

If your video becomes popular, you can earn some income from this as part of the Google/YouTube income program.

Sales Page Text in Video Content

Whenever I’m faced with a long sales page, I tend to scroll to the bottom pretty quickly. There is too much to read and most of it is not interesting enough. It would be much better to use one of YouTube’s best kept marketing secrets and that is to turn the text sales page into a video sales page.

Moving content interacts better with the viewer. No one likes reading that much text, but if you have a background voiceover or even a demo of the product you’re promoting, you’re providing a great viewing experience.

People are visual people by nature, having grown up with film and television. We love watching video content, so don’t be afraid to create videos.

video testimonials

Have you ever received written feedback about any of your services? If so, go ahead and dig these because you can turn them into video testimonials. You show the text on the screen and say the testimony aloud. This could of course be added to your video sales page.

video articles

Do you publish articles or any type of written content? Again, this is a great candidate for YouTube marketing video content. Turn those dry text articles into video articles and upload them to YouTube.

Presentations

Have you ever given a presentation to an audience? Well, now it’s time to get out the video camera and film the next one. You can upload this footage to YouTube, of course, as part of your YouTube advertising strategy, but why not package it into a product as well? You can sell this on your website or on a DVD.

Conclusion

You need to imagine how a YouTube marketing video strategy will benefit your business. Do you really want your competitors to get ahead? Try turning those dry text based sales pages or articles into online video content and watch your profits soar.
