Home Gyms – 5 Reasons The Gym Sucks And Working Out At Home Is Better!

The gym has quickly become integrated into society as a vital cog in the machine of life. Twenty years ago, it was unusual for a person to go to the gym to work out. Today, it is the norm. Something changed. A revolution happened. Fitness has become a priority in people’s lives. Savvy businessmen from all over the world saw an opportunity and seized it. Today, gyms are everywhere and memberships are at an all-time high,

But do we need the gym?

I don’t like them and I think we’d be better off without them.

Why?

First of all, traveling to the gym sucks.

Imagine this. You just finished a grueling workout. All you want to do is sit on the couch, relax a bit, and take a breather. You leave the gym, get in your car and head home. Five minutes into his journey, he finds himself in a traffic jam. Your ten minute ride home becomes thirty minutes. Gross.

Second, most personal trainers don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.

I don’t want to pigeonhole all personal trainers with the same brush (there are many who know what they are talking about), but most of the ones I have dealt with were clueless and out of shape. It’s a weird feeling to have a guy who needs to lose at least 30 pounds giving you fitness advice that he read in a book.

Third, going to the gym costs a lot of money!

Gym fees are getting out of control! The average cost of a gym is currently $60 per month and continues to rise. And have you ever tried to cancel a gym membership? Good luck with that! Many gyms have long-term commitment clauses that are almost impossible to circumvent.

Fourth, going to the gym limits your training options.

The first thing I do after turning off my alarm is grab my kettlebell and work out. Have you ever exercised in your underpants? It is fun!

Exercising first thing in the morning can boost your metabolism for the day (meaning you burn more calories) and put you in a state of alertness and readiness that’s more effective than any cup of coffee. If you had to go to the gym in the morning, you would have to get dressed, go there, sign in, put your clothes in a locker… and so on.

You end up wasting time doing meaningless tasks when you could be spending your time on more important things. Like getting a little more sleep before going to work in the morning.

Finally, there are a lot of distractions in the gym.

When I used to go to the gym, I decided that I would spend as much time as I could working out. He would exercise as much as he could.

Looking around, it seemed that most people did not agree with my way of thinking. I saw people standing around drinking water while staring longingly at the TV screen (or members of the opposite sex!) or admiring themselves in the mirror instead of trying hard and making the most of their time. By working out at home, you can minimize distractions and focus on working out.

It’s been three years since I left the gym. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am more independent when it comes to my health; I’m spending more time training and wasting less time and I’m in much better shape than I was in my gym days, not to mention I’ve saved a ton of money.

Gym time is over. The era of home training is drawing near. Jump on the bandwagon now, you won’t regret it!
