Shiba Inu training the basics

Shiba Inu training can be done in a number of ways. However, proper training of Shibu Inu dogs should begin at the puppy stage. Shiba Inu who are not trained in their childhood are much more difficult to train in their old age. This is due to the fact that poorly trained dogs generally show signs of disobedience that can be difficult to upset.

When a puppy has reached three months of age and has received its first injections, it is ready to start training. Shiba Inu training should start with basic commands and actions. They must start with a simple association. This will come in part from the name association. Start talking to the puppy by always saying his name first. Your puppy needs to learn your name so that he knows when you are directing his attention to him. This is very important in Shiba Inu training. If your dog does not know his name, it will be difficult for him to answer.

All commands should start with your name, until you have gotten used to other words and sentences that you turn into commands.

The Shibu Inu dog breed is highly intelligent and can quickly pick up on instructions you give it. Especially when it comes to repetition. The more you practice and work with your Shibu Inu, the more effective its training will be.

Shiba Inu training proved easy for those who first came into contact with the breed in Japan. So much so that they were able to quickly train the dogs to hunt various animals, including fish. The latter of which would require a lot of patience. If you, as a trainer, can show patience, then your Shiba Inu will have no problem following your example during training.

A very effective Shiba Inu training method is the command, action, and reward technique. You will be in charge of the first part. You will create a command like “sit down” and say this command to the dog using his name and then the word sit. You can then carefully show the dog how to sit. Now say it again and wait for your dog to react. If he doesn’t, you will simply have to repeat the steps and help him learn what is involved in sitting. You command and the Shiba Inu should act. Once he has acted and executed your command, you must reward the dog.

Many owners feel that they must reward their dogs with treats. However, with Shiba Inu training you can simply reward your dog with a pat on the back or a little belly rub. This lets the dog know that he has done something right and that you are satisfied with it. Once the Shiba Inu learns that it can please you with simple commands, it will always act when you order.

Sometimes this is not learned right away and may take some practice.
