How long will it take to learn a Kpop dance?

Understanding how to dance Kpop depends on the level you are at, the music track, and the routine with which you will dance.

The easiest way to learn is to enroll in a dance school that offers Kpop dance training.

For beginners, it usually takes around 6 or 8 lessons (assuming a lesson of 1 hour each) to get to know a dance routine.

When you go to the advanced level, it may take a faster time (4-5 lessons) to learn a track, as you are already getting into the rhythm and have also learned the standard dance steps.

You can even learn it all on your own by taking notes and following the movements of the Kpop videos. However, this requires considerable time and dedication, on top of that, there is no one to watch out for your lapses.

DIY training is not entirely suitable for a beginner, since Kpop dancing is generally a group dance and is visually wonderful when almost everyone is dancing in great sync. Therefore, you will certainly want to consider attending the appropriate instructional classes at the beginning.

The only time do-it-yourself learning is really appropriate is when you reach the intermediate or advanced stage and want to learn more styles that can increase your skill. This can be a way for dancers to improve their dance skill at this level.

You can also stay behind for an additional 1 or 2 hours immediately after the lesson, to practice what the instructor has demonstrated. Other people may choose to practice from home or perhaps together with their peers in a rental studio before the actual class.

To become excellent at any style of dance, it is really necessary for the dancer to put a good deal of time and effort into training. Lastly, it also depends on how far you are willing to advance in this dance.

As the saying goes, good dancers are not born, they are trained to become one. Of course, there must be an initial talent in that person to become good at dancing. However, that talent is often a seed and rarely takes shape until the person works on it.

If you’re just starting out with KPop dancing and you’re not sure if this is really for you, why not consider taking the beginner dance lessons first? Go with an open mind and allow yourself the opportunity to locate your interest and talent, you never know where this may lead you!
